Sake Museum Claremont

Cancellation, Refund & Return Policy

Effective Date: June 1, 2026

This Cancellation, Refund & Return Policy applies to purchases from Yamamori & Jiou Jiu Shang, Inc. d/b/a IN Sake Museum Claremont (“IN Sake Museum,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), including Sake Club memberships, workshops, certification programs, museum visits, guided sake tasting services, retail sake, frozen foods, Sake Café drinks and freshly prepared items, and gift cards.

Except where otherwise required by applicable law, the policies below apply to all purchases. Any product-specific terms disclosed on a product page, registration page, order confirmation, or separate signed agreement form part of this Policy. If there is a conflict, the more specific applicable term will control.

1. How to Submit a Request

Unless cancellation through an online customer portal is expressly permitted, all cancellation, rescheduling, credit, return, or refund requests must be submitted by email to info@insakemuseum.com.

Your request should include your full name, order or registration number, program or reservation name, scheduled date, and a brief explanation of the request. A request is effective only when received by IN Sake Museum. Verbal requests, or written requests that we do not receive, are not valid. It is the customer’s responsibility to confirm receipt.

2. Sake Club Memberships

Sake Club cancellations and refunds are governed by the separate Sake Club Membership & Subscription Agreement accepted at enrollment. The following summary is provided for convenience. If this summary conflicts with that Agreement, the Agreement controls.

Seasonal Membership

  • The Seasonal Membership requires completion of a minimum of two consecutive subscription cycles before cancellation is permitted.
  • After completing the minimum commitment, a member may cancel through the online subscription account or customer portal.
  • Cancellation stops future eligible renewals according to the cancellation effective date displayed by the subscription system.
  • Charges processed before cancellation becomes effective are generally non-refundable.

Annual Membership

  • The Annual Membership is prepaid and automatically renews every 12 months.
  • A member may cancel future automatic renewal through the online subscription account or customer portal after the initial purchase.
  • Cancellation prevents the next annual renewal charge but does not end the current prepaid membership period.
  • No prorated refund is provided for the remaining portion of the current membership period.

Sake Club Refunds and Pickup

  • Processed Seasonal subscription charges and processed Annual Membership charges are non-refundable, except where otherwise required by applicable law.
  • Unused collections, complimentary tastings, discounts, coupons, event access, or other benefits do not have refundable cash value.
  • All Sake Club collections are pickup only at IN Sake Museum.
  • Members are expected to pick up each collection within two weeks after the pickup notification.
  • If a member cannot pick up within the designated period, the member should contact IN Sake Museum as soon as possible.
  • Collections not picked up within the designated period will be handled under IN Sake Museum’s then-current Unclaimed Collection Policy.
  • If you experience technical difficulty canceling through your online account, contact info@insakemuseum.com.

3. Workshops

Registration is confirmed only after full payment has been received. Unless different terms are clearly disclosed for a particular workshop, the following policy applies:

  • More than 14 days before the workshop: A written cancellation request is eligible for a full refund of the workshop fee, less any clearly disclosed non-refundable registration, material, processing, or third-party fees.
  • Between 7 and 14 days before the workshop: A written cancellation request is eligible for a 90% refund of the workshop fee, less any clearly disclosed non-refundable registration, material, processing, or third-party fees.
  • Between 2 and 7 days before the workshop: No refund will be issued. The registrant may request that the eligible amount paid be held as credit toward another available workshop, less any non-refundable fees. Approval, amount, expiration, and permitted use of any credit are determined by IN Sake Museum.
  • Less than 2 days before the workshop, after the workshop begins, or in the event of a no-show: No refund or credit will be issued.

For purposes of this Policy, one day means one full 24-hour period before the published starting time.

4. Certification Programs and Courses

Certification-program enrollment is confirmed only after full payment has been received. The same participant cancellation schedule stated in Section 3 for workshops applies to certification programs and courses.

Please review this policy carefully before enrolling. Certification programs may involve advance commitments for instructors, course materials, examinations, registration, translation, administration, or third-party organizations. Any fee identified before purchase as non-refundable, including an applicable material, examination, registration, processing, or third-party fee, will not be included in a participant refund or credit unless otherwise required by applicable law.

Insufficient Enrollment

If enrollment is insufficient, IN Sake Museum reserves the right to cancel a certification program up to two weeks before the program begins. In that situation, the enrolled student may choose either:

  • A refund of the course tuition, excluding the material fee; or
  • Rescheduling to a future available course.

Material fees remain non-refundable when course materials have already been ordered, prepared, issued, or made available to the student, except where otherwise required by applicable law.

5. Rescheduling and Transfers

Registrations and reservations may not be transferred to another person. The original purchaser or registered participant must attend and must satisfy all applicable age, identification, prerequisite, registration, and program requirements.

A workshop, certification-program, museum-visit, or guided-tasting registration may be rescheduled one time only to another available date occurring within three months after the original scheduled date. The customer must submit the rescheduling request by email to info@insakemuseum.com at least four calendar days (96 hours) before the original scheduled starting time.

All rescheduling requests are subject to availability and must be approved and confirmed by email from IN Sake Museum. Rescheduling is not complete until that confirmation is issued. The replacement date must be one offered by IN Sake Museum and must occur within the three-month period. If no eligible date is selected and attended within that period, the registration or reservation will expire without refund or credit, except where otherwise required by applicable law.

Requests received less than four calendar days before the scheduled starting time are not eligible for rescheduling. A rescheduled registration or reservation cannot be rescheduled again and is not eligible for a refund, credit, price adjustment, or transfer to another person. Sake Club memberships and member benefits remain subject to the separate Sake Club Membership & Subscription Agreement.

6. Museum Visits

All museum admission and museum-visit reservations are final sale. Customer-requested cancellations, late arrivals, shortened visits, missed visits, and no-shows are not eligible for a refund or credit. A reservation may be rescheduled once only when all requirements in Section 5 are satisfied.

Museum-visit reservations may not be transferred to another person. Admission remains subject to the published reservation time, capacity, operating procedures, and any age or identification requirements.

7. Guided Sake Tasting Services

All guided sake tasting reservations and tasting-service purchases are final sale. Customer-requested cancellations, late arrivals, shortened experiences, missed reservations, and no-shows are not eligible for a refund or credit. A reservation may be rescheduled once only when all requirements in Section 5 are satisfied.

Guided sake tasting reservations may not be transferred to another person. All participants receiving alcohol must be at least 21 years old and may be required to present valid government-issued photo identification. IN Sake Museum reserves the right to refuse or discontinue alcohol service when required by law or responsible-service practices. Such refusal or discontinuation does not create a right to a refund or credit.

8. Retail Sake

Retail sake purchases are final sale except when the customer receives an incorrect product or a product that was damaged, spoiled, or defective when provided by IN Sake Museum.

Any issue must be reported in writing within 48 hours after pickup or receipt. Please include the order number, a description of the issue, and clear photographs when reasonably possible. Keep the product, bottle, closure, label, packaging, and proof of purchase until IN Sake Museum completes its review.

Approved remedies may include replacement with the same product, replacement with a reasonably comparable product, store credit, or refund, as determined by IN Sake Museum and subject to product availability and applicable law. We may require the product to be returned before providing a remedy. Products damaged after pickup or receipt, improperly transported or stored, opened without a reported quality defect, or purchased by mistake are not eligible for return or refund.

9. Frozen Foods and Other Perishable Products

Frozen foods and other perishable products are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged because of food-safety and temperature-control considerations, except when the customer receives an incorrect product or a product that was damaged, spoiled, or defective when provided by IN Sake Museum.

Any issue must be reported in writing within 48 hours after pickup or receipt, with proof of purchase and photographs when reasonably possible. Products that have been improperly handled, transported, thawed, refrozen, or stored after pickup or receipt are not eligible for a refund, replacement, or credit.

Approved remedies may include replacement, store credit, or refund, as determined by IN Sake Museum and subject to product availability and applicable law. For safety reasons, IN Sake Museum may instruct the customer not to return a perishable product.

10. Sake Café Drinks and Freshly Prepared Items

All Sake Café drinks, alcoholic beverages, and freshly prepared food items are made to order and are final sale once preparation has begun. Orders cannot be canceled, returned, or refunded because of a change of mind, personal taste preference, or an incorrectly selected size, flavor, milk, sweetness, ice level, topping, or other customization.

If IN Sake Museum prepares an item incorrectly or the item has a quality problem when provided, please notify our staff immediately. We will review the issue and, when appropriate, remake the item, provide a suitable replacement, or issue store credit. Refunds to the original payment method may be provided when required by applicable law or approved by IN Sake Museum.

Customers are responsible for reviewing their order and selected customizations before completing payment. Third-party delivery or ordering-platform purchases may also be subject to that platform’s applicable cancellation and refund procedures.

Alcoholic beverages will be served only to guests who are at least 21 years old and present valid government-issued photo identification when requested. IN Sake Museum may refuse or discontinue alcohol service when required by law or responsible alcohol-service practices. Refusal of alcohol service due to age, identification, intoxication, or safety concerns does not create a right to a refund or replacement.

11. Gift Cards

Gift cards are non-refundable, may not be returned or exchanged, cannot be used to purchase other gift cards, and cannot be redeemed for cash except where required by applicable law.

Gift cards should be treated like cash. IN Sake Museum is not responsible for a gift card that is lost, stolen, destroyed, or used without authorization, except where otherwise required by applicable law. Additional terms disclosed with the gift card also apply.

12. Cancellations or Material Changes by IN Sake Museum

IN Sake Museum may cancel, postpone, reschedule, relocate, substitute an instructor or presenter, or make other reasonable changes to a museum visit, guided tasting, workshop, program, or service because of insufficient enrollment, instructor availability, safety concerns, operational needs, circumstances beyond our reasonable control, or other reasons.

Except for the certification-program insufficient-enrollment provision below and except where otherwise required by applicable law, if IN Sake Museum cancels an eligible activity or materially changes its date or time, the customer may choose:

  • Rescheduling to another available date or eligible activity; or
  • Store credit for the eligible amount paid.

Cash or original-payment refunds are not otherwise provided for cancellations or material changes by IN Sake Museum.

Certification exception: If IN Sake Museum cancels a certification program up to two weeks before it begins because of insufficient enrollment, the student may choose a refund of the course tuition excluding the material fee, or rescheduling to a future available course, as stated in Section 4.

13. Incidental Expenses

IN Sake Museum is not responsible for travel, lodging, transportation, parking, childcare, lost wages, or any other incidental or consequential expense arising from a customer cancellation or from the cancellation, postponement, rescheduling, relocation, or modification of an activity, except where such limitation is prohibited by applicable law.

14. Refund Processing

When a refund is approved, it will generally be issued to the original payment method. Financial institutions may require additional processing time before the refund appears. Refunds, credits, replacements, and rescheduling are limited to the eligible amount actually paid and do not include used benefits, non-refundable fees, or amounts paid through a gift card or promotional credit, except where otherwise required by applicable law.
